In these trying times many of our Neighbors have Pets that they cannot care for because they are loosing their home or they have to be on Food Stamps, and Food Stamps will not allow them to purchase pet food. So many of those loved animals have to end up at shelters across the country, there they might or might not be adopted. Sad, for the animals that love their families and sad for the family that had the pet.
We can do something about this, we can help, I know with all the disasters that are currently every where - we do not need another cry for help - but lets help our neighbors.
Here is how it works:
Pet Food Pantry's will start all over the country - they work pretty much the same as any food pantry - needy people register and receive food for their pets.
Donation drives at local food stores and Walmart will fill the pantrys. Adminestration cost will be held at a very minimum - because the Pantries will be located at a place that the owners of a vacant building have 'lend' the pantry for a period of time until the Pantry is able to pay 'rent', utilities are paid by local 'angels' that donate money. The organisation is a not for profit - self help, citizens initiative- we hope to have a PFP (pet food pantry) in every community by next year. We started  in Milford,Pa and if you are interested in joining our efford please contact us.

We also will be instrumental and helpful to make the PfP a hub for fostering an animal should the owners be in a short term distress situation. We will recruit Seniors to give us a hand with fostering an animal. What goes better together than a lonely Senior Citizen and a needy Pet.
If you have any coments or ideas or like to help please
e-mail me I love to hear all comments if they are relevant.
